How-to for Thames Dragons Members

Great to have you in the club 🥳 !!!  You’ve probably got heaps of questions. Well, hopefully, we have you covered here with several How-to and beginners guides plus the key resources you’ll need to know about.

THAMES NEW JOINER BOOKLET

Being a new joiner is daunting. We’ve created a little guide to help you out. Let us know if you have any further questions or feel you’re missing out on something.

ATTENDING RACES

Get competitive, but have fun doing it! Here is helpful material on what you should know when attending a race with Thames Dragons.

O1 GUIDE

Looking forward to using our O1s for some extra training. Please ensure you have read through this doc and following the procedures like water temp and wind speeds and having a phone with you on the boat. Plus, make sure you’ve been checked off by Linda or Kevin in a session. You’ll need to be a BDA member as well to access O1s. Also, remember, we’ve got a buddy system, so you shouldn’t be going on the water by yourself. You can also find out if other clubs have people going at the same time such as Typhoon.

BOAT SAFETY DOCUMENT

Before getting on the boat, have a read of this so you are aware of the safety procedures we have in place.

INCIDENT REPORTING FORM

Anything accidents or the like, please ensure they are reported. This helps keep everyone safe.

BDA MEMBERSHIP PORTAL

Be part of the dragon boat movement. You need to be a BDA member to race in any of the activities that occur across the UK. It’s easy and just make sure you link your profile to Thames Dragon Boat Club.

BDA INSURANCE PAGE

Yes, you’re covered when you’ve signed up as a BDA and Thames member!
